Keeping your comments civil ✌

Hi Folks,

Happy second week of July! We know that this year has been tumultuous so far, and oftentimes that can lead to passionate discussions in your comments section. While passionate is good, we also understand that sometimes it's tough to keep things civil in the comments. That's why we want to highlight a few key moderation features with you today:

  • Restricted word filter - Any time a comment or name contains a word you've specified in this filter, it will go to the Pending queue. You can add up to 2,000 words to the list.

  • Pending filter by type - You can filter by flagged, restricted word, low rep, etc. From the moderation panel, you can see which comments are labelled as toxic.

  • Setting flag threshold -  comments which are flagged X number of times are removed from public view.

  • Ban by email domain - if you're seeing any repeated issues from a temporary email domain.

  • Hide Your Downvotes - you can now choose if you wish to hide the number of downvotes and downvoters from comments.
  • Also keep in mind: Clicking into any comment in the moderation panel will show a number of thread-specific moderation options that can be used to better manage difficult threads. See image below:
